Therapy dog
Meet Willow who is a ten-month old Cavoodle. She helps foster a sense of belonging in the Primary School and has a calming effect on the entire community. She is an excellent addition to our school and has been welcomed warmly by all. She can be found snuggling up with students in reading corners, keeping people calm as they regulate mood and playing in the playground. She is receiving ongoing training, is fully vaccinated and is approved for therapy work by a veterinarian. Our preschool students were very excited to meet her this week during library lessons.
Orientation for our 2022 families
This year our Orientation has gone online and we were very pleased to send our new families the webpage link for the first release of our 2022 Online Orientation. A big thanks to our current students for featuring in our videos. The webpage will play an integral role when supporting our new students and families at the beginning of their preschool journey.
Save the date We are very excited to be able to invite you to join us for a Christmas Picnic. This will be held from 5-6:30pm on Monday 13th December at the Primary School Oval. Please find more details on the invite further down and in messages sent via SZapp.
Sensory play
Sensory play supports scientific thinking which involves inquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating. It encourages our students to use their senses to discover new aspects. It also delivers on Outcome 4 of the Early Years Learning Framework. This term we have developed a sensory space in the centre. This space allows us to work with the students in small groups, build relationships and provide a calm, relaxed area for students to learn. We proudly offer this space to therapists allowing us to build connections and further support individual students.
