Meet and greet the staff
Thank you to the families who joined us for our meet and greet staff afternoons. It was wonderful to have families in the ELC connecting with each other and hearing about our philosophy and pedagogy. We appreciate you making the time to join us. A reminder to join sZapp to stay up to date with our Preschool events. If you need any help to join, please come and see us at the front office.
Carpark
To keep the traffic flowing in the carpark at afternoon pickup we have implemented a few strategies. These include, an executive staff member will be on duty, there will be more available car spaces in our carpark adjacent to the ELC building, a looped circuit has been designed where cars will join the line and be moved on more easily.
If you join the pickup line in the afternoon we ask that you display a blue ELC label on your front dashboard. Please pick one up from our front foyer. This will show staff on duty that you are an ELC parent waiting in the traffic line.
With increased parks on offer in our carpark we would encourage families to come in and park closer to the ELC. If you do park across the road, please ensure you use the crossing at the front of the school.
We would ask for your patience at this time. It is a busy time of the day and we are aiming to make pick up as smooth as possible. Our main priority is to keep our children and families safe.
Busy days
The students have settled in well and are enjoying the many learning opportunities available. It has been wonderful to watch friendships flourish and children grow in confidence.
A reminder that we open our main door at 9am. This allows our Before School Care (BSC) staff the opportunity to complete their program before signing the students into the Preschool program. If you would like your child to start before 9am you are welcome to book them into BSC. This program starts from 7.30am.
Rest time
After lunch our staff give the students the opportunity to rest. During rest time students can choose to lie down with their cushion, complete a quiet activity or perhaps sit and listen to music. The students are not encouraged to sleep however if they do sleep it is usually for a short time and is obviously what their body needs. It is important for children’s overall wellbeing for their bodies to have a chance to ‘pause’ during their busy day.
This year we are embracing our theme of “Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10 where we are teaching the children to be still, listen and connect with their God.
Leave
I will be on leave for the next 2 weeks. In my absence if you have any concerns please speak to Emma or Olivia in our front office. They will assist you or put you in touch with support. My prayer is that each and every day over the Lenten period we become closer to God and that at this special time we continue to look after each other. God bless, Michelle.

We were lucky enough to have a special visitor to our classroom recently to speak to us about nutrition and healthy food choices. We encourage and welcome any family members with special skills or something to share to please let us know. We would love to have you join our class (and other classes) to enrich our programs.
