We have just spent some time together reviewing our service Philosophy – which is really the heart and soul of our work with students at the ELC. This is a document we review each year and has been crafted together by each of us over the last 8 years.
As a team we would love our Philosophy to be something that resonates with you as families. We want our Philosophy to reflect your hopes and aspirations for your child as a learner and a part of our community. We want it to be reflective of the values we hold together with you in seeking the best for your child and seeing their potential as individuals.
As such, we invite you to read over our reviewed Philosophy statement. We have made a few changes to reflect our evolving and changing values and we would love your feedback;
- Are there any questions you have about our statement?
- Anything you feel is missing that should be included?
- Anything you feel is not really reflected in the way we go about things.
Please view our Philosophy here
During the week, we will send you access to a form to add your voice to our review– this will allow us to work towards making our Philosophy truly reflective of us as a collaborative learning community seeking to offer the best to young children.
Coming Up
There is lots happening at the ELC over the next few weeks:
- Wednesday 27th March – The Bilbies and Koalas will be travelling to Woden Athletics Track to participate in a portion of the Athletics Carnival. We anticipate we will be there from about 10am – 11.30 am.
- Bilbies Birrigai Excursion – Tuesday 2nd of April
- Koalas & Possums Birrigai Excursion -Friday 5th of April.
Harmony Day
Harmony Day was a delightful celebration of our diversity at the ELC. A big thank you to our teachers and educators who provided the students with gorgeous experiences to explore the different cultural backgrounds represented at our service.
Easter is fast approaching, with the Easter weekend nearly here. Each of our classes will spend time during their daily prayer circle sharing the story of Easter. We understand that for many students this is their first time encountering the Easter story and there can be lots of questions. Our focus is very much on the hope that Easter brings us – the hope of new life, just as Christ rose to life on Easter Sunday.
During Holy Week each of the classes will also have the chance to share some Hot Cross buns together - on Tuesday for the Bilbies, and Thursday for the Koalas and Possums. We will have an Easter egg hunt with the students once we come back to school after the Easter long weekend, so we can celebrate together and remember the message of new life that Easter brings.
The happiest of birthday's to Violet W.
We hope you had a day that is as wonderful as you!
St Anthony's Sibling school photos
St Anthony's Primary School are having their school photos taken at the end of the term and the Preschool siblings are welcome to have a 'sibling photo' taken also. The photos will occur between 8am - 9am on Thursday 11 April in the school hall. Parents will need to take their children to the photo and arrange payment through Compass. If you would like any further information, please contact the school front office on 6231 4022.
Please note, the Preschool will have our School photos taken on the 14th & 15th May (with Smashing Panda Photography) and the opportunity for sibling photos will be available then also. More information regarding our photo's will be sent closer to the time.
Donations Please - kitchen items
We are very grateful for the donations we have received so far, thank you to everyone who has been able to bring something in!
We are hoping to receive a few more things if possible. Do you have any unused or no longer wanted kitchen items at home? We would love any donations for our Preschool program.
We are thinking plastic containers, funnels, seives, mixing spoons, spatulas, pots or pans etc. These items will be used to further extend our outdoor kitchen, sandpit, waterplay and anywhere else the children let their imagination take them!
Thank you in advance!
We have received some feedback that the class newsletter's aren't opening through the SZapp. We are trouble shooting this and hope that the way it has been linked today will give you quick access. Please let us know if you are having trouble opening any links or documents from us. Thank you.
