It has been very quiet at the ELC with a few students each day joining us for Preschool while others have enjoyed completing tasks at home. The staff continue to develop interesting, rich, learning experiences for all students. For our students learning from home we have been sending a rubric each Monday morning. In the rubric we have outlined relevant Seesaw activities. We love seeing the students connect with the activities and appreciate them documenting their work to show the staff and fellow classmates. It is important to us to keep this relationship strong.
Next week we will offer a MS Teams meeting for students. It is our hope that this short interactive meeting will provide an opportunity for students to engage with each other and the staff, and for many Preschoolers it will give them a chance to be like their older sibling. We sent expressions of interest to families this week via Seesaw. Further instructions on how to participate will be sent soon.
A reminder to read all ELC sZapp messages to stay up to date with the current changes to fees, attendance surveys and more recently a questionnaire regarding our Holiday Care program. Information regarding the upcoming Holiday program will be sent next week.
Thank you to all families for your ongoing support and we hope at this time you have opportunities to embrace the slower pace, spend time with your family, get into nature and find the God moments as we all navigate a changed ‘parental’ landscape. We miss you and hope you stay safe until we see you again. We wish all the Dads, Grandads and father figures a wonderful weekend!!
God bless.
September Holiday Care Program - Expression of Interest
With the uncertainty of what the ACT Health directive will be in the coming weeks, we would like to ask for Expressions of Interest for attendance during the September School Holiday Care period if Canberra remains in lockdown over the school holidays.
Please complete this form by 9am Monday morning (6 Sep) if you are unable to provide care for your children due to being an essential worker and Canberra happens to remain in lockdown.
September School Holiday Care Expression of Interest
It is important to note that this is just an expression of interest and our booking availability may change at any time.
If lockdown is declared finished before the School Holidays, we will send out our normal booking form.
We appreciate your assistance.
We are wishing the Happiest of Birthdays to Miss Imogen, Alyan, Charlie P, Eli, Jack, Ivy, Juliana, Carson, Emma and Miss Sally who have celebrated a Birthday over the last few weeks. We have missed celebrating with you in person and we hope you all had a fabulous day!
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads, Step Dads, Grandads and Father Figures in our community.

We received a special message from Kenny Koala with some links to share with our families. Please find them below with a little bit of information about them.
The first video https://spaces.hightail.com/receive/hZnNkIJXIJ is a book video read from Constable Kenny ‘Why was that Emu wearing one red shoe’. Please note we only have permission from the publisher of the book Scholastic Australia to use this video book read until 30 September 2021. So feel free to use to use the video up and until that date.
The second video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lfj4Ezoqdz0 is a special message from Constable Kenny to children checking in on them during lockdown and praising them for the great job they are doing. We have also included an activity that they can consider doing thanking those that are helping keep us all safe (nurses, doctors, police etc).
Stay OK! Stay Safe!
