We have had such a lovely few weeks to finish off the term! Thanks to all our families for getting into the spirit of things for both of our dress up days. The Community Dress Up days were lots of fun, and sparked lots of different dramatic play throughout the day at Preschool. We had bustling police stations, vets and Dr surgeries, soccer and footy games, and a busy hair salon. The last few weeks the children have really enjoyed getting out into the local community, particularly the local Wanniassa shops. Each class that has visited the shops have been embraced so warmly by local businesses. The Bilbies loved seeing the robot at work giving out prescriptions at Wanniassa Capital Chemist, and the Koala class were kindly served baby chinos by Coffee Guru, and enjoyed a tray of freshly baked jam drop cookies from the bakery. It has been so lovely to be welcomed by these local businesses and their kindness was so appreciated.
We have also loved building our sense of Community at the ELC, by having some opportunities for each class group to gather around the fire pit at Preschool to roast marshmallows. The Preschool plus children will get to cook damper on the fire during holiday program, as they listen to some Dreamtime stories during NAIDOC week. We will also have some more community time around the Fire Pit next term. Another chance for community over the last few weeks has been our Happy Hearts Tree. It has been lovely to see so many of our students and families adding to the Happy Hearts tree in the foyer. This has been a great way to reflect on the things we are thankful for as a community, and we really appreciate the way so many of you have taken time to create a heart for our tree with your child.
Pyjama Day was a chance for us to give a little bit back to our community by donating to the Vinnies Winter Appeal. We had a great day in our PJs, and stayed snug and warm inside when the weather was cold and chilly out!
Thanks for all your support and enthusiasm over the last term. For those of you on Holidays, enjoy the time with family and friends and the chance to slow down the pace of life for a few days. We will see you all back on Tuesday the 18th of July when Term 3 begins!
Bookings for casual days in our school holiday program are now closed.
However, if you require a last minute or emergency booking, please contact us on bec.mackay@cg.catholic.edu.au and Bec will discuss it further with you. You can also call the preschool on 6231 0491.

If your child is enrolled for 48 weeks per year, then they are automatically booked in and they will be able to attend for their usual enrolled days and hours.
A reminder that Term 3 begins on Tuesday 18th July.
On Monday the 17th July our Holiday Program is running for all 48 week enrolments and students who have been booked in for casual days.
