Do you know someone who is looking for Preschool for 2024? Please invite them to join us, or pass on our details so they can contact us.
We thank all the families who speak positively about our Preschool, as word of mouth is the best advertising for future enrolments. We have already had lots of wonderful feedback from prospective families about the positive reputation we have in the community and thats thanks to you!
We are looking for a current parent who is availble to attend the open day This Weekend and answer any possible questions from a parent perspective. If you have a free half an hour or so at the planned times, please let us know. Thank you.
Welcome to Term 2 everyone!
We have had such a busy start to the term – jam packed with activities. We have had ANZAC day services, the School Cross Country, Photo Days, a Fete Mufti Day, artworks to prepare for the Fete, an author visit and an amazing school fete! What a start to the term! Thank you to all of you with your support with each of these activities and having children prepared and ready for the various events during the week. We really appreciate it!
The children have also been busy getting ready for Mother’s Day. We hope you enjoy the beautiful gifts they have prepared for you, and we look forward to seeing our ELC mum’s and mother figures at our Mother’s Day breakfasts coming up this week! You are very loved!
This term we are excited to provide all our students with a mental health and well being program based around Resilience. The Resilience Project is the work of educator and speaker Hugh van Cuylenburg, some of you may be familiar with his podcast ‘The Imperfects’. Hugh is passionate about building resilience in young people after his experiences working as a teacher. The Resilience Project has designed a program especially for students in the Early Years that our students will be engaging with.
The program is based around the 4 GEM principles: Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy. We will be working through these strategies for building resilience and wellbeing with the students, and engaging in activities that allow children to practice these principles. Classes will also be building routines into their weeks that provide students with opportunities to practice showing gratitude, empathy and mindfulness.
As a part of the project each of the classes has a soft toy Koala and Class Journal. These will be brought home by a different student to share with their families each week. The class Journal activities are based around the 4 GEM principles, with simple things you can do at home with your child.
If you would like to learn more about this initiative, you can visit the Resilience Project website using the link below

HATS
Just a quick reminder – even though the weather is cooling off children still need to wear their hats to school each day for sun protection. Please make sure your child has a hat with them each day.
A very warm welcome to Tamika Hargraves who has joined our team as an Educator at our ELC.
Tamika is joining the teaching team in the Bilbies room, and will also be working with our Preschool+ students in the afternoons. Tamika has been working as a Room Leader at a childcare centre in Belconnen and it has been lovely to have her join our preschool team. Tamika looks forward to meeting and getting to know you all.
The happiest of birthday wishes to Sofia, Oliver, Aria and Lucy who all celebrated their birthday recently. We hope you had a day filled with lots of fun!
