How wonderful it was to have our Families join us for Fathers’ Day brekkie last Friday. It was so lovely to be able to connect as a community in person.
Please know all families are warmly welcomed to attend our morning assemblies each day. This is a valuable opportunity to join us in prayer and present our students with awards, birthday celebrations and share announcements.
PRAYERS
We pray for the Campbell family, who sadly lost their Uncle and brother to their dad Michael in a car accident last week. May they know the love and strength around them during this difficult time.
We pray for our students who have recently made their Sacrament of First Eucharist and for our students who are making their Confirmation.
We keep in our prayers the staff who are currently on leave due to illness.
We pray for Fr. Tony, who has left for overseas travel this morning.
We pray for all our Father’s and Father figures in our school community.
Congratulations
Congratulations to the many students who have participated in their finals for sports over the past weekends and also the students who have represented our school in the TPSSA. My thanks to Josh McGrath and Angela Ryan for joining our students.
Don’t forget to see our Good News Newsletter this week with our wonderful student achievements.

A REMINDER FOR PARENT PORTAL COMPASS- Please download the app.
https://apps.apple.com/au/app/compass-school-manager/id778415974
The Compass Parent Portal is an online portal that lets you access important information about your child’s school and their progress. Including school reports.
The portal is accessible via the web and the Compass School Manager App (via the App store on your device) and will make engaging with us as a school faster, easier and more secure. It is hoped that by term 4, our school can move away from the various platforms we currently have so that our families are receiving accurate and consistent information.
REMINDERS FOR THIS WEEK- Mental health and wellbeing
At St Anthony’s, September and October have a big emphasis on mental health and wellbeing. We do this through a few focussed days including R U OK? Day and Bubble Day. This year, we are also adding National Health and Physical Education Day to our agenda. Please see the information below about each of these days.
Wednesday 7th September - National Health and Physical Education Day (NHPE)
The focus of NHPE day is to build discussions around being active in our local communities. At St Anthony’s we are inviting children to come to school dressed in their weekend sport uniforms, this could be soccer, netball, footy, scouts or any other sport. If your child/ren are not in any sporting teams with uniforms, they can wear whatever they wear when being active at home. Favourite sporting team t-shirts and jumpers are also welcome. Please ensure clothing meets the safety requirements for school as well as our SunSmart policy requirements. Shoulders need to be covered, no midriff clothing and shoes must be enclosed and appropriate for outdoor play. Please do not send your child to school with any form of football boot with spikes or studs.
Thursday 8th September – R U OK? Day
St Anthony’s has been celebrating R U OK? Day for a number of years now. We encourage children to come to school wearing splashes of yellow. This could be socks, a tie/bowtie, a t-shirt, a hat, a ribbon or scrunchie etc. Please note, it is not a uniform free day.
Yellow cupcakes will be on sale at the canteen for $1.00 each.
The focus of the day is to connect with those around you. To take time to stop and check in with your friends, classmates and colleagues and really ask if they are okay.
One of our Year 6 students has made a video to help promote the day, it can be viewed here: R U OK? Day Promo Video
The R U OK? website is also a great resource for tools on how to engage in this conversation with those around you. https://www.ruok.org.au
