Holy Father, God of Love,
You are the Creator of all things.
We acknowledge the pain and shame of our history
and the sufferings of Our peoples,
and we ask your forgiveness.
We thank you for the survival of Indigenous cultures
Our hope is in you because you gave your Son Jesus
to reconcile the world to you.
We pray for your strength and grace to forgive, accept and love one another, as you love us and forgive and accept us in the sacrifice of your Son.
Give us the courage to accept the realities of our history so that we may build a better
future for our Nation.
Teach us to respect all cultures.
Teach us to care for our land and waters.
Help us to share justly the resources of this land. Help us to bring about spiritual and social change to improve the quality of life for all groups in our communities, especially the disadvantaged.
Help young people to find true dignity and self-esteem by your Spirit.
May your power and love be the foundations on which we build our families, our communities and our Nation, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Reconciliation Week – Be Brave, Make Change
This year, the theme for Reconciliation Week is Be Brave, Make Change. It is to encourage all people to take action and to practice reconciliation each week and to take real action in their lives to make reconciliation real.
This week, on Friday 3rd June 2022 we will be having a day of focus for Reconciliation Week, 2022. We invite students to come dressed in the First Nations or Australian Flag colours or in their own national dress or colours that celebrate their cultural background.
Every child and staff member will be decorating a hand to contribute to our 'Sea of Hands' to be placed around our outdoor classroom. A photo of this will be submitted to the Canberra Sea of Hands Reconciliation Day 2022 site.
Sadly, we are unable to invite parents to indoor assemblies, in line with current Covid protocols. However, we will be live streaming the liturgy via MS Teams so that families can connect virtually. This should be a wonderful celebration and we are grateful to gather together as a school. My thanks to all involved in the wonderful organisation and coordination of these events and activities.
Our Year 6 Portfolio Leaders have been incredibly busy bringing their ideas and projects to fruition.
This week some of our leaders will be sharing their initiatives with our students and school community.
Keep your eye out for our Good News Newsletter coordinated by our student Media Team. Our Student Representative Council will also be launched this week at school. Congratulations to all our portfolio leaders and their teams as they continue to work hard to improve student and community engagement across our school. STA are very proud of each of you. Well done!
Some other dates for your calendar include St Anthony’s Feast Day which will be celebrated across 2 days this year. Our actual Feast Day is the 13th of June which is also the Queen’s Birthday public holiday. As such, we will celebrate St Anthony’s Feast Day on Thursday the 16th and Friday the 17th of June. Please keep your eye out on SZapp as more information is shared in the coming weeks.
A busy few weeks with much to celebrate. A gentle reminder as the weather becomes cooler in the mornings, to ensure all students' clothing is labelled. Students have been reminded to look after their belongings, including their jumpers which are often taken off through the day and left out in the playground. We have a number of items in lost property with no names labelled.
A reminder that parents and carers are warmly welcome to join us outside for prayer and morning assembly from 9.00am-9.10am each morning in the asphalt area.
Stay warm and have a wonderful week.
With kind regards,
Congratulations to the following students who represented St Anthony’s at the Tuggeranong Netball Association (TNA) Reconciliation Round on the weekend.
