Proposed Changes to School Bell Times for 2020
Historically, the bell times at St Anthony’s have been determined by bus timetables and availability. With the new bus timetable recently introduced by Action Buses, we now have the opportunity to adjust our bell times to be in alignment with other schools in our region.
We propose the following bell times for 2020 and beyond:
Supervision begins- 8:30am (currently the case)
Morning line up bell- 8:50am
Afternoon dismissal- 3:05pm (for all students)
End of supervision- 3:30pm
If you would like to comment on the proposed changes, please contact the School Board by Friday November 15th at office.stanthonyswanniassa@cg.catholic.edu.au
The final wrap-up!
On the final Friday of Term 3, our school community congratulated the major prize winners from our School Walkathon. Our six highest fundraisers were:
- Zoe (4P)
- Charlotte (3P)
- Aryzona (1L)
- Charlie (3P)
- Harper (KA)
- Isaac (2P) and Alexander (3/4L) (equal)
The family that raised the highest total was Charlie. D and Harper. D and our class that raised the most was Mr McDevitt’s class, 4P.
A VIP party is also to be held for the highest earners from each class.
To date the amount raised for the 2019 Walkathon is $17,430.55, which is a fantastic result.
There is just over $1,000 in pledges, which is still outstanding. If you would still like to make your contribution then we would welcome an online bank transfer (details below).

We again ask that you do not drive your vehicle over the Car Park Stoppers in the School's Car Park. A lot of these are now broken or damaged and the school will have to pay for these to be replaced.
A reminder that the "Drive Through" area at the front of the school is for pick up and drop off only. If the driver of the vehicle needs to exit the car to assist children in or out of the car then you need to park your car in the car park. This method should be a smooth flowing efficient process of collecting and dropping students to school.
Canberra Carols by Candlelight
75th Canberra Carols by Candlelight
School families are invited to bring a picnic dinner and join in the 75th Canberra Carols by Candlelight, to be held at Stage 88, Commonwealth Park, on Saturday, December 14 from 7pm.
Organised by the Woden Valley Youth Choir, this event is the second longest-running city community carols in Australia (Melbourne is the longest).
Come and join us for a night of song and celebration. It's a great way to begin the Christmas season.
We'll also be collecting donations for this year's charity.
Find us on Facebook ("75th Carols by Candlelight") for more details.
Last week we had a presentation at Assembly from the Weet-Bix TRYathlon team. Next years event is on Sunday 9th of February to register link on the link below:
