Throughout Term 2 and 3, 30 students from Year 4, 5 and 6 took part in the Maths Olympiad competition. This competition is comprised of five challenges, each increasing in complexity and designed to enable students to use higher order thinking skills. This year we had some pleasing results. Our school champion for 2019 is Jacky Y. Jacky’s results place him in the top 2% of all competitors in NSW. Congratulations Jacky and congratulations to all of our participants. Prizes and certificate will be awarded at assembly on Friday morning November 1st.
The school would love acknowledge the amazing generosity of an anonymous ex-student of St Anthony's. The school has taken delivery of 430 bibles. As you can appreciate this is an extraordinary donation and a wonderful resource for classrooms.
We are very blessed.
Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November 2019
In Week 3, St Anthony’s Primary School will be celebrating Ride Safe to School Week
While students are encouraged to ride to school at any time we are inviting students and parents to join with us on Friday 1st November where will be gathering at our four regular meeting points to complete our final Ride and Walk to School Day for this year.
We will leave from these meeting points at 8.30am to walk, ride or scooter to school.
- Mini Wanniassa Shops (Near Kidstart)
- Wanniassa Main Shopping Centre (near the Playground)
- Kambah (Meet on the Kambah side of Athlon Drive underpass near the School)
- Bonython/Greenway (meet under the Drakeford Drive underpass near the School)
Kindergarten will also be commencing their Scooter Program on Thursday in Week 3 (and continuing until Week 8), where they will be learning valuable skills and safety tips when riding their scooter. Hopefully it will see more of them too, in the not so distant future, taking up the option for a more healthy way to travel to school.
There is also the opportunity for students to win a $300 Trek Gift Voucher (one for students in Kinder to Year 3 and one for students in Year 4 to Year 6). If students are interested they can see me for an entry form but they need to do so before entries close at 5pm Friday 8 November.
We hope that you can join with us on Friday in Week 3 (1st November) and support our final healthy travel to school event for this year.
