Preschool News
Over the weekend we opened the preschool to our 2023 families. We were blessed with beautiful sunshine giving families the chance to stay & play. It was wonderful to see the children comfortable and quickly settle into their new surroundings. A huge thanks to our wonderful staff for joining us on Saturday and helping to welcome our new families at the start of their Catholic schooling journey.
A FEW REMINDERS
· Clearly label all student items
· NO toys are to be sent to preschool
· Please do not pack ‘treats’ in your child’s lunchbox. All lollies, chips and chocolate should be consumed at home as ‘sometimes’ food. At preschool, the children need healthy food to sustain a busy day of play. If you are looking for lunchbox ideas grab a pamphlet from the foyer.
ART SHOW
This term we are holding a preschool art show in our playground. The children have been studying famous artists including Matisse, Kandinsky and many more. The show is a culmination of their great work. It will be held across 2 afternoons giving all families including any grandparents and other family members the opportunity to pop in. For a small donation you can purchase your child’s artwork. Any purchased pieces will be sent home the following week. The money raised will be donated to St Vincent de Paul for their Christmas Appeal.
SAVE THE DATES
Mini Colour run – 25th November
ART SHOW – 29th November & 2nd December
Christmas picnic – 13th of December
This term the students will go to the zoo and the local library. More information will be sent home about these excursions with a request to sign permission notes.
TRANSITION TO KINDERGARTEN
Both St Anthony’s and St Thomas the Apostle will hold Kindergarten Orientation visits this term. This is a chance for the children to familiarise themselves with the classrooms and meet the teachers.
As part of this transition, our preschool plus students will have the chance to join OOSCA later in the term. OOSCA is the after school care program at St Anthony's Parish Primary School. The children will be supported by our staff and the visits will assist in their possible transition into similar programs next year. We will send parents information regarding changed pick-up arrangements on these afternoons.
Please contact your child's primary school for enrolment forms and extra details about outside of school hours care for next year.
