Preschool News
Welcome to term 4! We are happy to say that this term we are no longer operating under Covid restrictions. As such, we are very excited to welcome parents back into our preschool. We value parent input and look forward to having you back in our classrooms. Teachers will be in touch with ways you can participate.
Please visit the ACT Health website for current information Covid19.
To allow consistency for the children we will keep our current drop off and pick up arrangements. The children show independence at this transition, and we hope this will encourage greater self-confidence for primary school. We will also ensure we maintain Covid safe measures including regularly hand washing and ask that children remain at home if they have flu like symptoms.
NCEC visit
Delegates from the National Catholic Education Commission visited us during the holidays to tour our wonderful environments and learn about our curriculum, in particular our religious education program. The visitors were suitably impressed with our evidence-based practices. They also enjoyed afternoon tea made by the children using produce from our garden including fresh eggs. It was a wonderful chance to showcase our preschool.
Catholic Education survey
You may have received communication from the Catholic Education Strategy team to complete a survey seeking to better understand the reasons parents have for selecting a school for their child/children.
If you haven’t had a chance as yet to complete the survey, I would like to encourage you if possible to do so.
Your confidential feedback is highly valued and will assist Catholic Education in shaping our educational offerings going forward.
Parent / teacher interviews
Possum families have the opportunity to meet with Miss Kim for parent interviews. If you need assistance making an appointment, please let us know. At the end of term, we will send home learning summaries for each student. These are included in your child’s portfolio that are distributed at the Christmas picnic.
National Nutrition Week
This year’s theme is Try for 5: Get the most out of your veg.

Parent help
Our 2023 families are invited to attend an Orientation on Saturday the 5th of November from 9 – 11am. If you are a current parent and can be available to help across the morning, please let us know. It is a wonderful way to welcome new families to our community and we appreciate your support and time.
ART SHOW
This term we are holding a preschool art show in our playground. The children have been studying famous artists including Matisse, Kandinsky and many more. The show is a culmination of their great work. Please see below an invitation to this event. It will be run across 2 afternoons giving all families including any grandparents and other family members the opportunity to pop in. For a small donation you can purchase your child’s artwork. Any purchased pieces will be sent home the following week. The money raised will be donated to St Vincent de Paul for their Christmas Appeal.

ART SHOW – 29th November & 2nd December
