Preschool News

Last term I had the pleasure of working at our neighbouring preschool Holy Family. Whilst it was a great experience to work with the staff, students, and families it is wonderful to be home and to see how our students have grown. I want to extend a huge thanks to Bec and Sally who competently acted in the Directors role in my absence and to our great staff for their support and help to make this a smooth transition.

A very warm welcome to Kim (our new Possums teacher) and congratulations to Sally on your appointment as Director of Holy Family. If you have not had the chance to meet Kim, I would encourage you to pop in and say hello. Kim has worked closely with Sally to ensure she has a strong understanding of the students in Possums. Thank you, Kim, for the great start and we look forward to working with you as part of our dynamic team.

This term Bilbies and Koala parents were given the chance to meet with Miss Bec and Miss Gowri as part of our parent/teacher interviews. We highly value this discussion and hope that it provided you with a snapshot of your child and their development. Next term we will invite our Possum families to meet with Miss Kim.

Author visit

On Monday the 22nd of August, children’s author, Toula Papadam, will come to visit our school and present her picture books. Oh my! Said the fly was written for ages 3- 6. A fly and other characters watch out for the bee who is looking for nectar in flowering bushes in the Australian countryside. Toula will have signed copies of her books available for purchase for $15 and will include a small gift with the purchased book. If you would like to buy a book orders and payments can be made via Qkr.

Book Week dress up

Our students are invited to come to preschool dressed as their favourite character from a book. The students can bring along the book so we can read them throughout the day. Please ensure your child wears joggers and ALL accessories including their book need to be clearly labelled.

The students will enjoy a ‘literacy’ filled week including a parade on the oval in their dressups. Photos and videos will be posted on seesaw for parents.

BILBIES  – TUESDAY 23rd AUGUST

POSSUMS/KOALAS – FRIDAY 26th AUGUST

Scholastic Book Fair

Our Book Fair will be displayed in the preschool foyer during Book Week, 23rd – 25th of August.

The students will look at the books during class time and will bring home their wish list. If you would like to purchase a book, please come in on any of these days to place an order.
