Cross Country
The Bilbies and Koala classes had lots of fun joining in the School Cross Country Carnival. It was fun to watch some of the older kids in their races, and soak up the atmosphere! The Preschoolers did a fabulous job in their race around the oval. There was lots of enthusiasm and some very fast running! It is lovely to be able to join in with some of the events held by the school. We have a few school based events coming up in the next few weeks as part of Reconciliation Week.
National Reconciliation week 27th May to 3rd June
Reconciliation week begins next week, on Friday the 27th continuing through week 6 of the school term. This is always an important week in our school calendar, and the ELC students will be taking part in a number of school events during this week, including a Reconciliation Prayer assembly and a march at the school oval. The theme for Reconciliation week in 2022 is Be Brave, Make Change. During this week each of the classes will spend some time learning about Australia’s Indigenous Cultures through exploring some traditional and contemporary stories, looking at art, songs and dance, and building an appreciation for the care and connection with country shown by indigenous people.
Wednesday 25th of May - National Simultaneous Story time.
This year’s book for National Simultaneous Story time is Family Tree by Josh Pyke. We are planning an outdoor reading in the shade of some Eucalypt trees, with the Bilbies and Koala classes at 11 on Wednesday. The Possum class will also be exploring this story on their days at preschool next week. Family Tree is a beautiful book about growth, family and the role of nature in our living environment

Thank you for your understanding in us having to cancel the photographs last minute. We have been lucky enough to rebook Paul and he will return in Term 3 to take photos of the children. We will send out further information closer to the rebooked dates.
