Monday 26th October : Socktober and Rice Day
RICE ORDERS CLOSED |
October is World Mission Month. This year, we are Working to empower children and young adults with a disability at the Arrupe Centre in Cambodia. This centre works to care for people who are otherwise lacking support and opportunities to lead a fulfilling life. For more information, visit https://www.catholicmission.org.au/ As well as raising awareness, we are going to work to raise some funds for the Arrupe Centre. We are going to celebrate Socktober and Rice Day on Monday the 26th October (Week 3). Socktober is a Catholic Mission initiative for Mission Month. We will celebrate this on Monday 26th October where we invite our children to wear a pair of crazy socks (or their favourite socks) to school and bring in a gold coin donation for Catholic Mission. We will also be making recycled 'sockballs' at school. Sockballs are a replica of the type of ball thousands of children throughout the world use each day. We invite children to bring in any of the following items to contribute to making some school 'sockballs': - old, clean socks - plastic shopping bags or plastic bread bags - old, clean t-shirt (this may be cut up) - recycled bubble wrap, styrofoam, packing paper or anything that can be used for the inside of the 'sockball'.
