Well Done ELC Super-stars!

Well done to all our gorgeous ELC student’s for their fabulous ELC assembly on the last day of term! What a performance! We were so impressed with how beautifully they participated and joined in with all the songs and actions. There were so many children keen to have a go speaking into the microphone and they spoke so confidently. And what an amazing job each of them did sitting and listening and being so grown up the whole time they were on the stage! Even though the Bilbies weren’t there on the day it was lovely to see what they have been learning about Gratitude in their ‘Dis’ video. Well done everyone – we are super proud of you!

Last Monday was such a lovely day at St Anthony’s with the whole school joining the Festa D’Italia -an opportunity for the students to be immersed in some Italian culture. The students at the ELC loved singing the alphabet in Italian for the morning assembly (hopefully you might be occasionally enjoying renditions of this at home!). We all loved eating some delicious pizza made by a visiting Pizza chef and his crew of Year 6 helpers. In the afternoon we also enjoyed some yummy mango or vanilla gelato! Delicious! We are so lucky to have the fabulous Mr Mockler teaching us Italian this year. We had such a fun day celebrating all things Italian!

We have been enjoying the sunny days at the ELC and getting ready for spring. The students have helped to plant some flowers in our garden and love to help with the watering. Both the Possums and Koalas have shown an interest in the insects they have found around the garden too and have enjoyed learning more about these creatures! All of the classes have helped to paint some Garden Gnomes that we delivered to Gnome Knoll at Floriade. Make sure you keep an eye out for our gnomes if you make it to Floriade during the holidays.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM

For those students enrolled in the 48 week program – we have lots of fun things planned for the holidays!

We have been given notice that there will be some roadworks taking place along Wheeler Crescent (between Fincham Crescent and Byrne Street). The road works will be underway between Tuesday the 26th of September until Saturday 30th of September. Please be aware that there may be some delays on these days – and allow a few minutes extra for drop off and pick up times.

Each of you should have received an Szapp notification about our excursions to the National Zoo and Aquarium.

The Possums class will be visiting the zoo on Friday, Week 1 of Term 4 (Friday 13th of October).

Bilbies and Koalas will be visiting the zoo on Monday, Week 2 of Term 4 (Monday 16th of October). Y
